Dive into an underwater world when you enter

the South Australian Whale Centre!

About - South Australian Whale CentreVisit the South Australian Whale Centre and take an incredible interactive journey through our state heritage building. Ideally located in the heart of Victor Harbor; here you will discover new information at every turn. Our interactive exhibits including audio visual displays, artifacts, cinema and more will immerse you in an underwater world as you learn about Cetaceans,  whaling history and a wide range of local marine creatures including the pride of Victor Harbor, our annual visitors the Southern Right Whales.

Visit our 3D theaterette for a ‘Fisheye’ experience where you will chase and dive with the gentle giants on screen. Learn about their inquisitive nature and watch in awe as they seemingly to glide from the screen. It’s the closest thing to swimming with Whales without getting wet!

With a Southern Right Whale skull, Interactive Sea Shepard Exhibit (With a real Ships Wheel!), Kidz Zone play area, and more there is always something to discover here at the SA Whale Centre. Don’t forget to visit the gift shop on your way out for a souvenir or to say Hi to our staff and volunteers!

The South Australian Whale Centre is situated on Railway Terrace in Victor Harbor. Our building is an old railway goods shed, inside the stone is stained black from years of trains and soot. Look for us near the whale tail in Warland Reserve!
