The South Australian Whale Centre and Fleurieu Peninsula Tourism are calling for entries to the Prints of Whales Photographic Competition.

There are 2 categories to enter:

A People’s Choice Prize will be awarded to one of the 20 finalists. This prize will be awarded to the entry receiving the most votes from the public.

A Junior Photographer Prize will be awarded to an entrant aged 16 years or under. This prize will be selected by the judges from all of the entries received.

Eligibility:

The competition is open to both professional and amateur photographers. Photographs must be taken on the Fleurieu Peninsula and meet the regulations defined in the Conditions of Entry.

To enter, the photographer is required to read and accept the competition’s Conditions of Entry.

Entries must be submitted along with payment (please note: an Entry Form and payment must be submitted for each individual entry, max. 3 entries per person, per category) by 5pm, 29 October 2010. Late or unpaid entries will not be considered.

How to Enter:

• Take your photograph, remembering to record the date, time and location.
• Read the Conditions of Entry, download and complete the Entry Form (PDF 179KB) and additional documentation if required. (Please note a separate entry form must be completed for each photograph being entered, with no more than 3 entries per person, per category.)
• Read the Payment Details information provided and forward entry payment(s) via your preferred method. (Please note, a fee of $15 per entry is required to be paid when submitting your entry/ies.)
• Copy your images to CD – images must be taken at 3 Megapixels (2048 x 1536) or greater.
• Clearly label the CD with entrant’s name and contact details.
• Please send the Entry Form, Payment, CD and Talent Release forms (if any) to:

Important Dates:

Judging Process:

• From all of the entries received, judges will select 20 finalists.
• The 20 selected photographs will be displayed as ‘Finalists’ on both the SA Whale Centre and Fleurieu Peninsula Tourism website and in an exhibition at a designated venue on the Fleurieu Peninsula.
• People’s Choice Award - This prize will be presented to the finalist with the most public votes. The voting period for this award is 13 – 27 November 2010.
• Category Prizes – These prizes will be awarded by the judges to one finalist from each category.
• Junior Photographer Award - This prize will be awarded by the judges to one junior photographer.
• Winners will be announced 1 December 2010.

Entry Fee Payment Details:

An Entry Fee of $15 per entry is applicable. When submitting your entry, please ensure correct payment is included as entries will not be accepted without payment.

Payment can be made by the following methods:

• Credit Card (details to be provided on the Entry Form in the payment section)
• Money Order*
• In Person (at the SA Whale Centre, 2 Railway Tce, Victor Harbor)
• Cheque* (made payable to the SA Whale Centre)

*If paying by Cheque or Money Order please record your name, address and image caption on the reverse side.

Receipts for Cheques and Money Orders can be issued on request.

Credit Cards and Payment In Person methods will automatically be issued with a receipt.
